I ended up winning a Facebook contest before Christmas 2011 on the 782 Gear Facebook page. The contest was for a 40% off card and allowed me to pick up some pretty cool kit. As you may have guessed from my previous review on the Snugpak Sleeka Elite I am a big fan of insulated layers. I don’t believe in wearing just one layer when out in the field because you can’t regulate for temperature, physical activity or weather conditions. The Smokin’ Sweater is a lighter insulated layer meant for higher activity in cold weather. This is also the first set of photographs where I tried using the display mannequin. Its the same height as me but model skinny so if it looks like there is a bit to much slack in the clothes that’s why.

When you’re out away from your vehicle it is hard to strap a regular camping chair onto your rucksack and sitting on ammo crates, stumps or the ground can only provide so much comfort. I happened to check out the Walkstool line of folding stools at Mountain Equipment Coop when I was looking for a sleeping pad. The first thing I noticed when I picked it up was how light and compact it was. When I sat on it the deal was done.

After having used my Krill light for years I decided to see what else was out there. I was looking for an electric glow stick with a few extra features and one that was a bit brighter. I think I read about LazerBrite on Kit-Up and decided to give them a try. I picked a few Multi Lux Units that have low, high and flash as a setting. I was impressed with the range of accessories for the LazerBrite units and picked up a few that I figured would be useful. I will be reviewing multiple items so each section will be broken down into the item that is being reviewed.
